Q: What's eDVR?
A: eDVR is a new term that stands for professional
grade Electronic Digital Video
Recording. Unlike old-fashioned video tape
recorders, eDVR relies on the power of your
Pentium-based PC to achieve rapid video-clip
searches, and remote viewing/recording. Does
away with the need to swap tape cassettes or
any other type of removable media.
Q What's different with your eDVR
Cards?
Simply put ..., our cards perform as claimed.
When you order cards from us on the trial basis
(before deciding to either keep them or return them), we will show you how to verify
the legitimacy of our FPS claims.
Q: What's different with your eDVR software?
A: Other companies
started out earlier in this technological innovation.
They keep adding new features to their old software
application. Our software was made perfect
right from the beginning. Everything is well-thought-out (correcting the numerous mistakes of the
industry in general). Even a child could
master
it without first studying it. Everything falls into place,
inspiring confidence to the user.
Q: How about the surveillance video quality?
A: If you utilize our cameras in the manner
suggested, you should never get blurry
images, even in a low light environment: and
you always have the option to divide the screen in
the amount of divisions that you wish, no matter if
you are viewing it live or playing back previously
recorded videos. Not necessarily so for other surveillance
security software out there.
Q: What's different with your complete eDVR
systems?
A: If you follow our recommended system
requirements, you should not experience any unresponsive
software functions, lost recorded video and hardware
failure. Beware of vendors offering low-cost
digital video recording systems. Often, the
computers they use are cheap, good for
home use, but not suited for a commercial security system.
Unlike games, video surveillance requires a lot of
complex compression processing and intense hard disk
access.
Q: How do your
low cost kits compare to your high-end kits?
A: Mostly
speed. The lower cost kits run at slower
speed. At low speed, you may not always be
able to distinguish facial traits of strangers (for
the purpose of police identification) or other
important details. At high speed, you see
every movement as if you were viewing them live.
It all depends on your needs and budget. High
speed is not always necessary. But, the same
easy-to-use software is utilized for all of our
kits, although some features or settings may not
be available nor required. All of our kits offer a
way to build very reliable security systems.
Q: How much disk space does it take to store
the recorded videos?
A: Impossible to predict. The following
factors come into consideration:
-
The compression technique utilized. Your
choice of MPEG4, Motion JPEG, MPEG1 and Wavelet.
JPEG offers high resolution picture quality, but takes
the most disk storage space. Wavelet stores
the most files on a given hard disk, but the picture
quality suffers slightly.
-
The picture
quality setting. Your choice varies from 1% to
100%.
-
The number of
cameras simultaneously detecting movements.
-
The type of
movement being recorded. Reduced movement
require less disk space.
And since each
camera can be set independently, this makes it even
more difficult to assess the hard disk space
requirements for any particular application.
If you find your current hard disk drive to be
inadequate in size, you can add a second drive, but larger one as the
prices for hard disk drives are rapidly going down.
Q: What are the advantages over traditional
security systems?
A: Simpler to use and more readily accessible.
Overall, there are less devices required. No need for
separate small security monitors, motion sensors, time lapse recorders, quad processors,
etc ...
Q: Is your site secure?
A: You never send your personal information to us,
only to
PayPal.com, which is by far the most secure
payment method on the internet today. Should
you become a victim of fraud, they can assist you in
addition to your credit card provider. Not so
when you purchase surveillance equipment from all
those different websites that accept credit card
payments directly. Credit card theft is
rampant, so beware! By exclusively using
the secure PayPal gateway, your
credit card details are well hidden from anyone's
view.
Q: What is your product warranty?
A: All purchases are backed by a one-year warranty
period from the purchase date. Free software
updates are available online periodically.
Q: What are your payment options?
A: See our
Payment Methods webpage.
Q: Do you
accept international and foreign orders?
A:
Yes.
Q: Why
are some cameras blinking?
A:
In order to avoid such
distortion, you must go into the EzSetup program and
disable the channels that are not in use.
Q: Can I
mix both, color and B/W cameras on the same eDVR
system?
A:
No really! You must either have only
color or only B/W cameras connected at any one time.
If you absolutely need to mix them, make sure the
B/W cameras are grouped together on the same video
chipset, for instance, camera 1 and 2 share the same chipset.
Please explore EzSetup to find out how the other
ones are grouped ...
